On the 4th of September the European Youth Championships have officially begun. During the opening ceremony several people gave a speech in which they complimented the Dutch Life Saving Association.

The opening was followed by the first event: SERC.

During this event the teams must offer their help during a fictional accident that has occured. The athletes will be judged by their initiative, judgement, knowledge an skills. The teams have two minutes to help the victims of this unknown accident. The best result was booked by the team of Great Britain. Germany won the bronze medal.
